Our B Corp Impact Report 2025
As January comes to a close, we are proud to share our latest B Corp Impact Report, a moment to pause, reflect, and take stock of the year just gone.
When you are in the midst of running a business, it is easy to move from one milestone to the next without stopping to recognise how much ground has been covered. Creating this year’s report gave us the opportunity to do just that. To look back not only at what we set out to achieve, but how those intentions showed up in practice, day to day, across our firm.
A Year of Purpose in Action
Hartley Law was founded with purpose at its core, and this year that purpose has continued to guide our decisions, our growth, and our impact. From advocacy and community engagement to client care, governance, and environmental responsibility, our focus has been on embedding our values into how we operate, not treating them as separate initiatives.
Throughout the year, we continued our commitment to survivor advocacy, supporting Refuge through fundraising, awareness campaigns, volunteering, and participation in national conversations focused on improving systems and outcomes. We also invested in our local community and the future of the profession, supporting students through work experience, mentoring, and outreach, and opening doors into law for those considering their next steps.
Strengthening the Foundations
Alongside our external impact, we focused heavily on strengthening our internal foundations. We maintained the highest standards of client care through Lexcel reaccreditation, enhanced cyber security through Cyber Essentials Plus, and embedded our B Corp commitments into the everyday running of the firm.
We brought our team together around our shared values, prioritised wellbeing and psychological safety, and ensured fair and ethical practices remained central to how we work. This year also saw meaningful progress on environmental responsibility, including reducing our digital footprint and transitioning our website to a green, B Corp-certified host.
Being a B Corp, Day to Day
Being a B Corp is not something we “do” once a year. It is reflected in the choices we make daily. From working alongside other B Corp organisations, collaborating with fellow B Corp law firms, and sharing ideas on how to bring the principles to life within professional services, to consciously choosing who we work with and how we operate.
We have seen firsthand how powerful it can be to turn everyday working life into an opportunity to inspire others, build awareness, and collectively move our industry forward.
Looking Ahead
This year’s Impact Report also sets out our objectives for 2026. These build on what we have already achieved and reflect our commitment to continuous improvement across governance, workers, customers, community, and the environment. They are practical, achievable steps that help us remain accountable to the standards we have set for ourselves as a B Corp.
We are proud of the progress we have made, grateful to the people who make it possible, and clear on where we want to go next.
